2018 Proprietary Red Wine

This JACK Winery 2018 Proprietary Red Wine is a blend of two powerhouse red varietals grown in the Napa Valley. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon comprise the blend which begins with a crimson, cherry red, burgundy-purple- blue haze color. Aromas of raspberry, tart cherry, cinnamon and plum appear first, before herbal notes of bay leaf and sage. Bright, fresh flavors of wild berries, juicy cherries and currants meld into a vibrant, yet smooth, flavor bomb. The foundation of this wine is of a solid structure, while the texture is smooth, and the finish sensually long. The wine pairs well with starters such as Parmigiano-Reggiano, roasted nuts, dried fruit and charcuterie. It also adds a powerful dimension to meals ranging from gourmet burgers, to wood oven-fired pizzas, to braised roast to filet mignon.  

• Fermented in French oak barrels, Sur Lie (“stirring of the sediment”), then aged for 22 months before bottling.
